Uganda Microcredit Foundation (UMF) offers purpose‑built Agriculture Loans that help farmers and agri‑entrepreneurs expand production, improve yields, and stabilize cash flow throughout the season. Available to individual farmers as well as registered groups or cooperatives, these loans are processed quickly—funds can be in your hands within three business days once all documents are received.
To qualify for an Agriculture Loan from UMF, you must meet the following eligibility conditions:
Legal, Existing Agribusiness
Your agricultural or agri-related business must be legally recognized and operational for at least six (6) months.
Ugandan Residency
All applicants must be Ugandan residents actively engaged in agricultural activities within the country.
Individual or Group Applicants
Both individuals and organized farmer groups or cooperatives are eligible to apply.

Local Council Recommendation
A letter of endorsement from your area Local Council (LC1) Chairperson is mandatory. This confirms your residence and good standing in the community. For group applicants, all members must present individual LC1 letters.
